Sir,
Referring to your letter dated the 20th October 1893 I
have the honour to report, for the information of the
Secretary of State, that funds being required to meet a
requisition for coins we telegraphed to the Government of
Hong Kong on 7th instant to enquire if we could draw for
$200,000 and yesterday received a reply in the affirmative.
We have accordingly drawn on the Colonial Treasurer
under yesterday's date on demand for $200,000 realizing at
the exchange of 28244 per the sum of £22,277-14-8.
